This Privacy Policy covers the data we collect from you through our Site and App. You can use some of our Site’s functionality without revealing any Personal Data. However, your Personal Data is required for features or services related to Content Offerings. - Shared Data – Some features of our service will allow interaction with other users by sharing content publicly using photos, videos, documents, messages, PDFs and other files. Such content may be publicly visible depending on where it is shared.
- Educational content data – When you use our platform to access educational content, we collect data on which videos you see, topics you prefer, your favorite educators, watch time etc. If you are an educator, we store your educational content data.
- Communication data – – If you experience an issue or report a problem, we would collect and store your contact information, such as name, email address, phone number, location, or any other data collected through automated means. We would also use that data to send you updates about specific Content Offerings and updates or maintenance of our Site or App.
- Settings data – – We would collect and store data regarding your preferences for using our services, such as audio and video settings, video recording file location, screen sharing, and other configuration settings
- Other content data – We would collect and store data about the content generated during video meetings, live streams, and messaging, such as text, audio, and video messages. The content may contain your voice and image, depending upon the account owner’s settings.
- Creation of Content – If you wish to create content on bvidya through the Site or App, you may be required to provide us with personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, etc.
Data from Automated Means
When you bvidya and its services, we collect some data through automated means. This includes
- Technical data – Information such as your device type, IP address, operating system type and version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage data – Data about how you interact with our services. This includes data like the number of participants in a meeting or a live stream, changes in your account settings, and performance data. We collect this data to improve our services and add advanced features
If you create Content on bvidya, we may collect some user-generated content like assignments and feedback. We may also collect data related to the courses, such as quizzes, exams, and surveys. We advise you not to include any Personal Data or sensitive information pertaining to yourself or another person on such course-related content, excluding the essential information needed for the generation of such content.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
bvidya will never disclose your Personal Data to anyone, except as mentioned in this Privacy Policy or as explicitly agreed by you.
We will use the Personal Data provided by you in accordance with the conditions mentioned below.
Media Usage Conditions -When you update your profile image or send media in bvidya chats, we access your gallery to retrieve photos or media for uploading as your profile image or to be sent to the individual(s) in the chat. Photos collected by us for a user’s profile will only be used for displaying the user’s profile image to other bvidya contacts for easy identification while using the bChat feature. Photos and media shared in the chat are transferred securely between participants and individuals not part of the conversation will not be able to view the shared media.
Compliance with Terms of Use Using your Personal Data to perform necessary obligations under any contract with you (for example, to comply with bvidya’s Terms of Use).
Usage for the company’s legitimate interests Using your data for our legitimate interests or for the legitimate interest of any third parties who partner with us. We consider the following to be our legitimate interests:
- Run and develop our business.
- Operate our website and deliver our services.
- Build partnerships with individuals and academic institutions.
- Carry out research and analysis.
- For marketing and business development.
- For administrative purposes.
Usage for User Communication Obtaining your consent for sending you certain communications or areas where your consent is required by law.

- Share your basic profile information, such as your photo, name, interests, courses you enrolled in, and courses you completed with other users for the purpose of providing our users with better services.

Our vendors and service providers may include those that provide us with the technology and services to maintain our Site and App along with the Content offered. 3. WHO CAN SEE YOUR DATA
Your account data will be visible to you if you’re the account owner. Depending on the account owner’s settings, some of your public data may be visible to meeting participants or hosts. Users may be able to see sent files, audio transcripts, text messages, or other information shared on our Learning Management System (LMS), during a meeting, live stream, or in messenger.
4. SECURITY
bvidya ensures that all appropriate security measures are in place to protect your data from unauthorized access, modification, or deletion by third parties. However, no security measure can be 100 per cent secure. Hence, we cannot guarantee that the data you share will not be accessible to third parties with malicious intent. Therefore, we encourage you to implement all security measures from your end, such as keeping your password safe. Do not share your password with anyone. If you believe your password or account has been compromised, we strongly advise you to change your password immediately or get in touch with our Customer Support team at the earliest.
5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES FOR THE USE OF YOUR DATA
You have the option of not providing certain data to us. However, you may not be able to use particular features of our services. To stop receiving promotional communications from us, you may unsubscribe from our mailing list or change email preferences in your bvidya account. However, despite your preferences, we will still send you information regarding significant changes in our services and updates about our policies.
6. ACCESSING, MODIFYING, AND DELETING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
You can access and modify the data you directly provide by logging into your bvidya account. To get your account and Personal Data deleted, you may contact our Customer Support team to start the process. Please note that even after deleting your account, we will retain your data for as long as we have a valid purpose to do so, such as assisting with legal obligations or resolving disputes.
7. POLICY FOR CHILDREN
We give high importance to the privacy interests of children and endorse the active involvement of parents and guardians in their children’s online activities. Individuals who are younger than 18 years but meet the required age of consent to use online services where they reside may not set up an account themselves. However, they can have their parents or guardians set up an account to enable their children to access appropriate content. Individuals who are not of the required age limit for consent may not use our services. If it comes to our notice that we’ve collected Personal Data from a child who is not of the required age, we will take measures to delete the collected data. Parents who believe we may have the data of their child under the age of consent may submit a request to our customer support team for deletion of the data.
8. UPDATES TO PRIVACY POLICY
bvidya reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If there are changes to the Policy, we will notify you of the same to give you a chance to review the updated Policy. The updates will be effective immediately unless explicitly mentioned otherwise. If you continue to use our services after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect, you will be considered in agreement with the updated Policy. The latest revised Policy will supersede all previous policies.
